Just Desserts

A brand new event is in the works for the city of London and South-Western Ontario. The First Annual "Just Desserts" bake-off will be held in 2010. This event is designed to celebrate the best part of any meal; the dessert! We will be bringing together a wide spectrum of culinary tastes and experiences in search of the best dessert in London and South-Western Ontario.

This event will bring together top chefs from restaurants, hotels, bakeries, culinary schools and catering companies. There will be a variety of categories to showcased, including; cakes, pies, cookies, squares and everything else. Attendees of the event will all buy coupons to sample your creations, and will be asked to vote on their favorites throughout the weekend.

Each participating company will be required to provide samples for the attendees to taste for a reasonable cost of one to three coupons each. Venders will receive a percentage of the money raised from the coupon sales at the end of the event. In addition to the sample that you will be serving, you are also encouraged to make full size servings of your creations to be sold at your own pricing costs.

It is anticipated that we will be able to have a few cooking stages where some of the desserts can be made and demonstrated at. One of the cooking areas will be used for a special competition on the line of "Iron Chef" and "Food Network Challenge". We will be taking a copy of the recipes for all of the creations to make a cookbook to be sold during the event. A percentage of the proceeds from the sales to be donated to a local charity.

Currently, I am sending out feelers to see what sort of interest there is out there for this event. If there is enough interest, plans will move forward and more information will be sent to you.
